And it’s free,” Craig Apple, the sheriff of Albany County, told AP.Albany County Sheriff Craig Apple has acquired an army surplus MRAP - Mine Resistant Ambush Protected Classification One vehicle (MRAP) that was used in the war on Iraq. What on earth do we in Albany County need such a vehicle for? Sheriff Apple is known for his support of community policing. Using such a military vehicle is in complete opposition to community policing. Speak out against this outreageous militarization of our sheriff's department.
