The Muslim Solidarity Committee and Project SALAM (Support And Legal Advocacy for Muslims) invite you to join us for this rally and march remembering the sixth anniversary of the arrests of two Muslim men from the Albany community and all Muslims preemptively prosecuted by the US government. Speakers at the Mosque will discuss this case and how they are used to generate fear of Islam in order to justify war and oppression.
The rally will take place immediately after the conclusion of the National Peace Conference which will be held July 23-25. For more information, see nationalpeaceconference.org

The rally will be held on the West S. Swan St. Steps of the Capitol (South Swan Street & Washington Avenue, Albany, NY). From the Crowne Plaza, State and Lodge Streets, Albany, NY 12207: facing State Street, turn right to go one block up the hill on State Street. Cross the street, the Capitol is straight ahead. Turn Right onto Eagle Street and follow Washington Ave. up the hill, past the Capitol to the West Side (you may also turn left onto Eagle St., and turn right on State St. and walk up the hill). The Capitol is on the top of State Street. The west side of the Capitol is pictured here – we will gather by the statue of Geoge Washington. The rally will begin at the end of the National Peace Conference to be held at the Crowne Plaza, July 23-25.
The march will go west on Washington Avenue. At Lark Street, take the right fork in the road on Central Avenue. Masjid As-Salam Mosque is located at 278 Central Avenue, on the left-hand side of the street between Lake Avenue and Quail Streets.

The march will go west on Washington Avenue. At Lark Street, take the right fork in the road on Central Avenue. Masjid As-Salam Mosque is located at 278 Central Avenue, on the left-hand side of the street between Lake Avenue and Quail Streets.
Directions for returning to the Capitol or the Crowne Plaza
Walking: From the Masjid As-Salam Mosque, turn right onto Central Avenue. Walk four blocks on Central Avenue. Central Avenue will turn into Washington Avenue. Walk three long blocks down the hill, and the Capitol will be on the right. If continuing on to the Crowne Plaza, turn left onto State Street. The Crowne Plaza is one block down State Street on the left. The trip is approximately 1.4 miles, and a 25 minute walk.
Bus: The #55 bus leaves the corner of Central and Lake Avenue every 1/2 hour beginning at 2:08. Ask the bus driver to let you off at your destination — the Capitol or the Crown Plaza, corner of Lodge and State Streets. The cost for the bus trip is $1.50, exact change required. In addition, the #12 bus leaves the corner of Washington and Lake Avenue every 1/2 hour beginning at approximately 2:05.
